The First Foal out of She’s Ritz’s Cut Above, was one Lavon Tyson had been waiting for. He had already raised WGC Ozone’s Cut Above All out of her dam Cut Above Liz and had bred her to the great Jose’ Jose’ and Lavon was hoping for a black stud colt. He got so much more than just a black stud colt!

Born in Wadesboro, North Carolina, Jose’ Revival was sent to Eric Yokley Stables to be started under saddle. The excitement grew very quickly around this colt and Revival changed many hands until the Cottonwood Colt Preview where he got the attention of Casey and Michael Wright who brokered the deal of acquiring Jose’ Revival for Debbie and Billy Max Woods. The Woods had enjoyed great success with I Am Jose’ and he had become a success in the breeding barn. They were looking for the next superstar to add to their lineup.

Under Casey Wright’s direction Jose’ Revival was undefeated as a Two-, Three- and Four-Year-Old and was crowned World Grand Champion Two-Year-Old in 2018, World Grand Champion Three-Year-Old in 2019, and World Grand Champion Four-Year-Old in 2020.

As an aged stallion Revival was the Reserve World Champion Aged Stallion in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and he became the Reserve World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse in 2022 and again in 2023. Only I Am Jose’ can claim equal billing with Jose’ Revival as the most decorated son of the great Jose’ Jose’.

Jose’ Revival making his victory pass becoming the 2020 World Grand Champion Four-Year-Old.

Now in the Breeding Barn at Sugar Creek, Revival will begin to fill the shoes of his sire, The Legendary Jose’ Jose’. According to Rising Star Ranch Breeding Manager David Williams,” I’ve watched Revival his whole career. There may be no stallion I have anticipated more to have in the breeding barn. His pedigree is a perfect cross of two of the greatest stallions we have managed Jose’ Jose’ and He’s Puttin’ On The Ritz. His dam is one of the most productive mares in this modern era.”

Revival’s dam is a maternal sister to WGC Ozone’s Cut Above All. His dam She’s Ritz Cut Above is also a maternal sister to the dam of the 2021 Celebration superstar 2 X WC My Honey Bee who just recently sold for a record amount for a mare. Revival’s reputation and pedigree aided greatly in the excitement of the purchase of his yearling brother, A Ritz Revival (now known as Wichita), who sold for a record amount of $106,000 for a yearling at public auction. Wichita went on to become the 2022 World Champion Two-Year-Old Stallion in section B. Revival’s 2021 sister sired by Honors also was the high seller at the 2022 Prestige Yearling sell breaking a record for a filly sold at public auction at $80,000. In short, Revival’s dam has five foals old enough to show under saddle ALL five have a show record, In case of Revival and his full brother Wichita both World Champions, her 2 foals sired by Honors are Be Like Mike who had 2 Top 3 finishes at the Celebration as a Two Year Old and Honor Of The Ritz as 3 top 3 finishes at The Celebration as a Two- and Three-Year-Old. This type of success is unequaled in this era and is why her foals command such high prices. The quickest way to tap into that successful bloodline is by breeding your mare to Revival.

David Williams continues, “I also have the pleasure of standing I Am Jose’ for the Woods who is also another Jose’ Jose’ son. I Am Jose’ is an entity to himself, a unique individual who has many attributes similar to his dam’s sire Prides Generator. Revival on the other hand is more like his great sire Jose’ Jose’. Their day-to-day actions and demeanor are uncannily similar. Revival is a people horse for sure like Jose’. I am very excited about the future of Revival and the foals he can produce. I feel they will be in great demand.”
