Only Non-Classic Roan mares to be bred.

As fashionable as his namesake, Jimmy Choo burst on to the show scene in 2016 and dominated the market. Trained by Jimmy McConnell,  word of mouth only referred to him as “Jimmy’s Blue Colt”. Everyone who had seen ‘Jimmy’s Blue Colt” knew he was a great one to be.

Sired by another Jimmy McConnell protege’ WGC He’s Slim Shady and out of She’s Wild And Blue, a daughter of A Jazz Man, Jimmy Choo’s pedigree is steeped in World Championship bloodlines, with one of those bloodlines carrying his signature Blue Roan color.

Starting with the last mare on the bottom of his pedigree, the great Merry Souvenir, (pictured below)

Merry Souvenir was one of the greatest show mares of her era and was crowned the Junior World Grand Champion at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. If I recall correctly she was the last Blue Roan to walk out of the Celebration ring with a World Grand Championship until 59 years later when Jimmy Choo made his victory pass in 2016.

Traveling back to the first mare on his pedigree, his dam She’s Wild And Blue, His dam is a 3/4 sister to the top World Champion producing blue roan stallion The Confederate Blue. Karen Bean purchased She’s Wild And Blue from the man that raised both her and The Confederate Blue, Ronnie Green, when She’s Wild And Blue was just a yearling. Kept as a broodmare She’s Wild And Blue produced as her first stud colt WGC Jimmy Choo.

Undefeated in Open Two Year Old competition, Jimmy Choo is pictured below at his first show in Henderson, Tennessee and his last show as a Two Year Old at the 2016 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.

Many ask, “Whatever happened to him, why wasn’t he shown as a 3 year old ?” Jimmy Choo was diagnosed with equine protozoal myeloencephalitis or as most know it EPM. He was exposed to certain protozoal parasites which could be found in opossum droppings or many other sources. He was treated for this neurological disease and has come back in a good, sound and healthy manner, but the effects of it won’t allow him to perform as he did that phenomenal 2016 season. The show world’s loss is the breeding world’s gain. Jimmy Choo will now stand to the public and reproduce the quality individual that he is, with that dash of “Blue” color in many cases.

His first foals will arrive Spring of 2020. We can’t wait to see these foals. We have high expectations and believe they will be the talk of the Walking Horse breeding world.

If you are a breeder of color and want that high end quality, OR if you are a breeder of quality and want that high end color, Jimmy Choo is at the extreme top of both those spectrums
