At Sugar Creek we are proud to be representing 2 X World Grand Champion A Gin To Win for owner Sherry Roberts. We have followed the stellar career of A Gin To Win closely and felt he would have a large impact on the breed in the breeding shed.
Sired by Hall of Fame stallion Gen’s Black Gin, and out of the multi–World Champion producing mare Sister’s Magic, a daughter of WGC Pusher Busting Loose. He was bred and raised by Jill Derrickson of renown For The Glory Farms. It was at For The Glory that Gin To Win was started under saddle.
A Gin To Win had a very successful Two-Year-Old year culminating with a strong finish in the Two-Year-Old Stallion preliminary at the 2016 Celebration. But it was his Three-Year-Old year that he became a standout. At the 2017 Trainer’s Show Gin To Win dominated a very strong class of Three-Year-Olds and soon became shortly after the property of Harold Roberts of Van Buren, Missouri.
Under Harold Roberts ownership Gin To Win was relocated to Abernathy Stables and came under the guidance of Blaise Broccard. It was later in the Summer of 2017 Blaise made her first show ring appearance on Gin To Win at the competitive Marshall County Horseman’s Association Show. Gin To Win was a force in that class and used that victory as a steppingstone to become the 2017 World Champion Three-Year-Old Stallion and 2017 World Grand Champion Three-Year-Old.
Kyndra Myers took the reins of Gin To Win in the Amateur ranks in 2018. A successful 2018 campaign ended with another set of roses for Gin To Win in the Four-Year-Old Amateur World Grand Championship.
As an Aged Horse Gin To Win added More World titles in the Show Pleasure division under the direction of Blaise Broccard.
Now Gin To Win is headed to the breeding shed where many breeders have been waiting on him. According to David Williams of Sugar Creek, “The offspring of Gin To Win’s dam, Sister’s Magic, has always intrigued me from Man of Stone and another Stonecutter son from her Hook ’em Horns who we sold as a yearling and unfortunately died before making it to the show ring. We knew when she was bred to Black Gin we had gotten it right. Her first offspring of that cross was Res. World Champion mare GI Gen and the first Black Gin son out of her was of course multi-WGC A Gin To Win.”
David Williams also added, “With his popular show ring career, strong pedigree and perfect curb appeal, we have high hopes for A Gin To Win and feel his first colts will be well received.”
